The course was very interesting and useful. I learnt a lot of new things about Italy apart from language. My language improvement is very huge, even though I have been learning it only for 2 months. Teachers are very good and skilled.
I liked apartments, which are in a very good condition and close to the historic center of Florence.

I liked the teachers a lot. The lessons were always interesting, informative and at the same time entertaining. The material was explained very good. I liked that we talked a lot so we could practice the speaking skills from the very first lesson. It was also very useful for learning the language that we have a combination of both: grammar & speaking. The teachers always created a very friendly and cozy atmosphere 
The apartment was perfectly located, so there were not many people, but at the same time there was a market nearby and it was fast and easy to reach school. The apartment itself was good: cozy but at the same time there was much space.

For a beginner like me, Istituto Il David is a great school for learning Italian. The teachers are very enthusiastic, and very patient and encouraging in helping us learn. The classroom activities are very helpful, and gives us confidence to slowly speak Italian. I am very grateful to the Directors for making alternative arrangements for me when I struggled to keep up with the intensive class.
I am glad I chose to learn with Istituto Il David and I will definitely be back for a longer period next year.
I stayed with a local family who live very close to the school. My room was nice and clean, with a private bathroom. My hosts are generous and lovely people, who made sure I ate well, and also shared their knowledge of Italian culture and history with me. I am thankful to the C. family for looking after me very well during my stay in Florence.

My impressions from the school are the best ones. I got attached with everyone here, all were kind and welcoming. My studies lasted for a month, which gave me a good result and experience. I was lucky to have teachers like Veronica, Lucia, Rita and Chiara. I love all of them and will miss a lot. Hope to be back soon. :)))

I appreciate the small class size and the teachers’ abilities to maintain a dialogue with the entire class while teaching. I especially benefitted from the many opportunities to speak in class. The administrative staff have also been very accomodating, in responding quickly to emails prior to arriving in Firenze and in answering questions after I arrived.
I decided to come to Firenze first on my trip to Italy, and I believe it was a good choice. Because I want to learn the language, it was possible to speak often in Italian, but many people were able to speak English if I became overall. The accomodations arranged by the school with an Italian woman and her daughter were very nice and felt close to il centro and other interesting things.

I enjoyed my week studying. The school succeeded my expectations. The course was appropriated for my level. The teachers were well prepared and knowledgeable.

I very much enjoyed my time here. I feel like my Italian has improved a lot. The structure of the classes helped me improve while keeping the language interesting and fun to learn.
Rita and Laura are both wonderful teachers.
The apartment is in a great location, very close to everywhere I needed to go. Mrs A. is a great host, very kind and welcoming. My room was very comfortable and spacious. I never had any issue sharing the kitchen or the bathroom with the other people living there.

Very professional teachers and staff; friendly and flexible. The school staff was able to adjust to our needs as seniors. We highly recommend.
We asked for two weeks of instruction; enough to travel through Italy for a month.
Claudia, Chiara and Lucia (the teachers) were very understanding and patient, all had international experience and related very well to foreigners.
Our apartment is 10 minutes walk, - first floor, in a safe neighborhood. Very important to seniors.
The apartment is clean and comfortable and met our needs.
We met the owner personally (not a rental company) and one small problem was solved quickly.

I really enjoyed the course, the teachers were very good.
The group classes were enjoyable, professional but with a good relaxed atmosphere (very good for improving confidence + talking in front of others).
My private classes were a highlight: I feel like I improved a lot with Giada, she is a fantastic teacher!
The level was obviously better suited than the group classes.
Overall, very good experience!

Very nice. I liked it from before I got here because of the location downtown. After I got here I liked it much better. The classes were good – the teachers very good and class times were good. I liked the mix of students and felt welcome. Giuliana  was very helpful all the way. She is good as the “face” of Istituto David! (And thank you Carlo)

La scuola: for me the school was very nice. Small classes are best for learning a language. The course itself was fantastic: a mix of grammar and conversation, both of which reinforced the other part. I added an extra hour per day of individual conversation that gave an important extra boost to the core program.
Best part: I loved the teachers! All of them were highly capable, professional and very helpful in facilitating all us students’ learning of Italian. A challenge since we were all at different levels. Cordiali saluti a tutti! Grazie mille!

I feel that I have improved my Italian here. The classes were well organized. The conversation classes were helpful and a lot of fun. All the teachers paid attention to areas where the students needed more help. I hope I can return next year.
My apartment in the Piazza del Mercato Centrale was clean and comfortable and a pleasant walk to the school. The landlady was very helpful in showing me the apartment and how to use the appliances.

I loved it! The teachers are very friendly and incredibly patient. The level could have been higher but all in all it was ok. Homework was good, and is important! There isn’t really anything you can do better. I am seriously considering to come back!

The conversation course was very interactive and a lot of fun. I enjoyed working in groups to improve my vocabulary and communication skills. Rita was great! Daniela was very helpful with everything I needed.

This school was very nice. I did expand my vocabulary a lot within the 1st week of attending. The teachers were great. Especially Veronica, the communication teacher. It’s also fun to learn here! Both courses I’m taking, grammar and conversation, are teaching me a lot. I am enjoying both courses and I have definitely learned a lot more things just in one week. Both teachers Alessandra and Veronica are very good teachers, they are very helpful and I learned a lot from them. Wish I could stay longer.

Whole course was great! We have learned all the basics things of Italian language, so we can have conversation with Italians and talk about many topics. Teachers were very nice and had patience with our mistakes, and our questions. They have different methods of teaching, so we were doing a lot of exercises.
I liked that every day we had to work in groups, so we met our classmates better. Many thanks to Daniela also because she always had answers to every question I asked. All in all I am very satisfied with whole program, people and school. Thank you!
For the apartment I can say all the best. I loved that me and my friend had separate bathroom and large room. Apartment is cozy, comfortable. Everything works perfectly well. The area was also great because we were in the center of Florence. We couldn’t imagine anything better! I also liked that we had all that we needed for the apartment: washing machine, iron, hair dryer, etc. I was very happy living there!

I’m very impressed with the level of the school. I am a certified teacher and have worked as one for many years. So I can say that the curriculum of the school is accurate to different levels of students. The teachers I’ve met (Lucia, Giulia, Rita and Veronica) are not only nice people, but also good professionals who are equipped with different methods of teaching. The course worked out ideally for me personally. On the one hand I’ve learned a lot, on the other hand it wasn’t too difficult and time consuming, so I could really enjoy my vacation here in Florence. The school offers lots of extra curriculum activities for the student and provides them with lots of help starting from corresponding with them before the visit to giving all kinds of details while we were here. I would highly recommend this school to anyone interested in learning the language and discovering Florence.
I am very lucky to live where I was set by the school. I chose one apartment with a hostess, because I wanted to see how Italians live from inside. I became good friends with “mia padrona di casa”, Maria. I took part in a family dinner, received all kind of help and support. The apartment was located a little bit far from the school but it gave me the opportunity to explore the city, stay fit and in the long run. I loved it. So if (or when) I come to Florence next time, I’d like to stay in the same apartment.

“Istituto Il David” – it’s a school which can help you to learn Italian language. Teachers know in which way they should give to students information. All teachers know English and if you have questions you can ask them. Very good students, you can find a lot of new friends. You can ask them about their country and know something new about other countries. Thanks a lot teachers at “Istituto Il David”!

Teachers have been really helpful and patient. I am a slow learner and they helped me in every way to make me feel comfortable. Jimberly has always been there for me for any question. The teachers all have been very good, but 2 weeks were personally not enough for me to learn all.

The course was well structured and my favorite classes were the more casual ones which made learning fun. Jimberly at reception has always been so helpful which makes asking questions easy.
The apartment was well located and very clean.

The courses are very good, I have learned a lot, and I also think that all the teachers I’ve had are very good. I’ve just participated in one activity in Florence, that was interesting. Then I went to Cinque Terre, which was very beautiful. The trip was well organized. All in all I was very happy to come here. I would also like to thank Jimberly who is very helpful and always very quick to response to all my questions. You are a great team!

Excellent. Well organized and Rita was a fantastic teacher. I definitely learned a lot. The course was intensive and fast paced, which suited me fine as I already had a basic understanding of the material from week 1.

The course is a good starting place for improving my Italian. Before starting I was a complete beginner and now I’m excited to continue improving and learning. The teachers are very enthusiastic and friendly which helps. Over all excellent.

It was beneficial to have different teachers for grammar and conversation. Chiara and Francesca were excellent at explaining grammar and I like how Chiara integrated grammar with conversation in the intensive course. Rita, Veronica and Chiara were excellent conversationalist. Their styles were engaging, animated and interesting. I learned quite a bit in spite of my challenges with speaking Italian. By the way, this was my third Italian school and by far my favorite!

Istituto Il David was fantastic! I feel like I have learnt so much in one week, and the teachers I had were fantastic! I would definitely come back to continue my Italian learning if I was in Florence again.

Good location, very central, nice rooftop. Lessons have been interesting and fun. We did a lot of different exercises and games. Small classes for a good learn environment. All teachers explain very well and I had a good time doing the course.

The grammar portion of my class was wonderful. Very informative. Francesca was very clear and described “how to” very well. I very much enjoyed her class.
The school itself is very convenient for me to walk to. The school itself is nice. The classrooms are big enough and comfortable. The bathrooms are very clean.

I like the location of the school and the classroom layout. The course covered much areas that were interesting and most of it was also new for me which was good to make the most out of my time in school. The professors, Veronica and Chiara, were what I liked the most about the course. Grammar was very good and Chiara took the time to explain everything to us with good examples and exercises. Conversation was also good with interesting discussion topics and a good practice of Italian every day.
I learnt and had fun at class which made it even better!
The apartment is very nice and the room comfortable. No problems at all with the place, the owners or the location. I had access to the kitchen, laundry, etc.

It was very nice. The program was very good, and the teachers were very prepared for the lessons. Helpful teachers and good program to teach people Italian language. I think that the method of teaching is good , I have started to speak and understand Italian language. The school is located in a very nice place, directly in the city center. Classrooms are very nice and beautiful. Home atmosphere.

The course was well structured and very interesting. I honestly believe the teachers are highly skilled, very intelligent, patient and attentive to the needs of students, which is particularly tough when you have many students of various ages, nationalities and backgrounds.
In general accommodation was fine, quite noisy but I understand this to be the case in the centre of Florence regardless the zone.

I like your school because the atmosphere is very nice. I can’t tell much about the program because I’ve been here only for 5 days, but still it’s nice. But one thing I can say for sure is that the teachers are very nice, smart and I enjoyed their lessons, it was a lot of fun and very helpful. The organization of the school is very good and I have enjoyed my stay. The course of conversation is well structured, the program was well provided with differences between conversation and others.

A good variety of subjects in both grammar and conversation classes. The one-to-one lessons in the afternoons were really useful in preparing me for the morning lessons. All the teachers were lovely and it was a pleasure to meet them. It was easy to book and organize my course and Daniela was very helpful and supportive.
I stayed with a lady in the center of the city which was perfect – a 10 minute walk to the school and all attractions ad it was really nice to come back to a home at the end of a long day. A very good way to experience true Florence life!

I was very pleased with my lessons with my two teachers for my one-on-one classes. Many years ago, I was teaching English, so I think I can see it from both sides… both teachers were very effective teachers, explain well, listen carefully to a student’s need and are very pleasant and friendly. Most importantly, they are not only good teachers but good people…

I had a truly wonderful time studying at Istituto Il David for 3 weeks in January. Both my grammar and conversation teachers were amazing. They encouraged interaction between students and answered any questions without any embarrassment. Grammar classes were well organized and the exercises were very helpful. Conversation classes were varied, which I enjoyed with some classes involving casual conversation on everyday topics as well as formal debates. I can definitely say that my reading, writing, listening and conversation skills have all greatly improved thanks to these fantastic lessons!
I very much enjoyed staying in my apartment for two weeks while I was studying in Florence. The room was big and beautiful with plenty of room for everything. The apartment was clean and warm at night – very important during the winter! The area was very central, quite close to Piazza Santa Croce and less than 10 minutes walk to school.

Loved the classes and the teachers, all of them were very helpful and great teachers, very patient. I also liked the mix of grammar and conversation, it was a good balance.

I am very impressed by the school, especially the high quality of the teachers who were able to quickly analyze my level of Italian, my strengths and weakness, and from there focus on what I needed to learn and practice in an efficient manner that maximized the amount of time that I was here. I had the opportunity of having all the teachers at the school and all of them are exceptional. Besides being great teachers, they are all personable, have great sense of humor (important when learning a language!), and are great people. Complimenti!
I also appreciate how great Carlo and Daniela have been on the administration side. Daniela responded to my emails of inquire quickly, professionally, and nicely, and Carlo went out of his way to make sure that I started classes (as well as finding me a host family) at the last minute. Both Carlo and Daniela are very professional but also personable. As a final note, many thanks again to Rita, Veronica and Francesca who were my main instructors and who are all exceptional. And as we say in the US di persone così brave, they all deserve a raise. Grazie ancora, and I will recommend the school to my fellow coworkers.

All the teachers at Istituto Il David are very enthusiastic and encouraging. After these two weeks I can express myself more confidently in Italian. I would recommend this course to a friend without hesitation and will probably return in the summer.

I like a lot the flexibility to schedule the classes. I think the teachers are very nice and the teaching quality is very good. In general, the school has a very “friendly environment”. The staff is friendly especially Daniela. She was aways very helpful.

I really liked this 2 weeks, although it was really short. Would have been more ideal to stay longer. I would recommend that if there is a possibility. Teachers were very nice and professional. I believe it is a good structure to have grammar and communication separately with different teachers. Although I did not participate at many of the afternoon activities, it is a good idea.
It was nice, family was nice, also the room. And it had a perfect location, easy to come to school, and close to the city center. Thanks for everything.

I wanted to meet people, learn some Italian and have fun this week. My Italian is still pretty bad, but otherwise I achieved my aims!
The apartment was very good – excellent location, and Daniela is a lovely host. The room is very simple, but I didn’t need anything else.
It is a noisy location, but that is the price to be paid for being so close to the centre of Florence. It is worth it.

First of all, the school’s staff is very kind to all the students. The location of the school is amazing, because it’s really close to everything! No doubt about it! Well, I would like to say that my stay in Signora Marianina’s house was really great. I’m very happy to have had that opportunity. She was really nice and polite with me. I really enjoyed the school. The staff was skilled and friendly, and they have taught me as much Italian in 1 week as my Spanish school teachers in my entire life! The program and textbook also seemed well-thought-out and cohesive. Overall, it was an amazing experience, I learned a lot, and I hope to come back next year!

I really enjoyed the class, and did try to learn some Italian! I have not taken a class in about 30 years, so it was not at all easy. But, even when I was completely lost, the instructors were generally friendly and encouraging. The other students were all wonderful. I hope to try again in November – and I will hopefully be a better student then.

School was great. Francesca is amazing, friendly and she always gives clear explanations. The location of the school is central and easy to access. I really liked the experience and will certainly come back to Istituto Il David.

I really enjoyed the instructors and the hospitality of the Istituto. The instructors teach very well and make sure the students understand what they are teaching. I also really enjoyed the after school activities because they give the students the opportunity to know the city, culture and other students.

Just like last year, the teachers were great. Always willing to help and in good mood during the courses. I joined the intermediate course and think that was the right one for me. Although I hadn’t done some of the grammar we used, I could keep up with the other students. As I only stayed for a week, I didn’t use the weekend program offers, but I went on a couple of trips organized by FFF and offered by the school last year and all of them were great.

Fantastic!! The mix of conversation lessons and grammar lessons works really well and the timings are perfect. The individual lessons were also perfect – Lucia made a big effort to provide me with Italian literature, and I’m really grateful for that. The teachers couldn’t be better – good fun and extremely good teaching style. The trips were also great – I have no complaints!

I am very happy that I attend this Italian course. Although it’s summer time, I combine the lessons with “vacanze”!! School is very nice and very polite the secretary and the professors. They explain everything in detail, especially with the grammar (that was very important for me)!!! And they were not in hurry to explain you everything. Also it was important, that they have had a sense of humor!

I truly enjoyed my experience at the Istituto Il David. Daniela organized my arrival and classes perfectly. She was very helpful prior to my arrival until my departure. My professors were very welcoming and knowledgeable. I would recommend this school to my friends, colleagues and family.
My host was very nice and the location was good. Although it was not in the center of town, it was a close and peaceful walk to school and the town center. I truly appreciated the care and hospitality of my host. She was very nice, intelligent and hospitable. I was very comfortable with her.

I have been extremely impressed with everything about the school. The teachers are incredibly friendly and welcoming and I felt at ease in the lessons without fear of making mistakes! The afternoon activities were also very interesting. The general atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and it was great to get to learn the other students too.
The apartment with Michela was lovely and very convenient for the school. Michela was an excellent hostess and it was a pleasure to stay with her for the week. My room was perfect with a bathroom, a TV and even a kettle to make tea! Couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation!

The course – varied and challenging, especially the intensive. Grammar and conversation classes always compliment each other well. Trips outside the school are appreciated.
The tutors – enthusiastic, encouraging and manage to get you speaking/conversing in Italian very quickly. They make a clear effort to get to know you, show a clear interest in your study.
Great range of activities available – they let you make the most of your trip in Florence.

The school is really nice, everybody are so nice and simpatic. The classes are very interesting and the teachers are really nice. I’m feeling good here. :)

Everything’s excellent. High-skilled professors, who could explain me many new accents in Italian language, which I couldn’t understand studying in Russia. The course is divided in levels, the program is completed. Logic of teaching is easy for understanding. For me studying here was the greatest experience of Italian language. Thanks all the teachers.

I like the school there are nice and good teachers – we had a lot of fun in the class every day. I like the students here and it’s very easy to study when there are few students in the class. I wish the school all the best and the success.

I enjoyed grammar classes and had the opportunity to work with two different teachers. They are both wonderfully insightful and patient. They teach grammar in a way that is accessible to all levels and with their charisma managed to make it interesting as well as fun.

The school is very well situated in the centre. The groups were small enough to make progress. All the teachers were happy and effective. I enjoyed learning Italian.

The school is in a good, central location in Florence and easy to find.
The teachers are very friendly, helpful, and make the lessons fun – so it’s easier to learn the language. Although only here a week, the program was full and I learned lots of words and grammar every day. I wish I was here longer, and perhaps had some extra (private) lessons to practice conversation.
Where I stayed was 20 minutes walk from the school. A very nice room in an apartment, staying with a family. The owner was friendly. The room, kitchen and bathroom were all very clean.

I’m very positive about the school. In special about the teachers and the secretary. They always work with a lot of enthusiasm. The grammar I learned has been explained in a good manner.
My room is in the city center. I very much enjoyed this place. It was wonderful to live 2 weeks in the city center of Florence. When the lady is at home, she is always willing to talk and willing to explain about Italian culture and habits.

I enjoyed studying Italian in Florence. Of course, it is a magnificent city. I really liked our teachers, the homestay. The school was very efficient while organizing my education here. I am thinking to come here again.

I liked the course at Il David very much. The teachers are very capable, patient and nice. The grammar course and the speaking course are coordinated well and have been very helpful for me.

My apartment was better than I expected; roomy and located very centrally. Couldn’t have wished for anything more! The price was also very reasonable.

The lessons were really well organised – particularly the grammar lessons, which went at a perfect speed, and I felt that I really learnt a lot in my two weeks.

The room was nice, it was easy to find and close to the station, so that’s fine. The roommates were lovely and sweet and we had so much fun together.

I really enjoyed the course. Both of my teachers were excellent: very engaging and lively, and they explained things very well. The school is attractive and comfortable, and Daniela was helpful at every stage, from my initial inquiring until the end of the course. I also found the course to be good value.

Teachers: they were patient and took the time to explain and encourage the class to continue to study. Most importantly they made the classroom comfortable and made teaching interesting, fun, but maintain the level of seriousness of the course. Their approach to teaching is stimulating students’ intellectual curiosity and independence in learning, inspiring and motivating students through a high level of presentation and appropriate communication for the beginner intensive course.

The course is well set out, and easy to follow. The teachers are well prepared, patient, courteous, on time! All of my teachers were excellent , and I am especially grateful to G. with whom I have had the most contact. Daniela has also been easy to deal with at the desk. I have not done many after school activities because of my PhD study, but have enjoyed what I’ve done, and the variety is good.

I have enjoyed my stay at “Istituto Il David”. The school has excellent teachers, and Daniela is always there to help out with any problem. Italy as we know is crazy and getting things done in Florence gives a headache, BUT not in Istituto Il david; everything here is done on time and with excellence. I recommend this school! Also, Il David has the best prices on the market. Grazie per tutto!

In fact, an amazing school! Not only did I have a lot of fun in class, I learned so much. The teachers are amazingly talented and the method of teaching used in the school is very efficient. I will definitely recommend this school.

The school was impressive top me because everyone was really friendly. The teachers that I had were knowledgeable and had a fun approach to learning Italian. I think the course moved at a good speed because in one month I have learnt a lot. I would return again and recommend Il David.

Everything was well organized and the amount of information was great. I learned far more than I expected to in 4 weeks. The teachers all had great energy and were very patient and helpful. The terrace is also a wonderful addition to the school. I had a really great, memorable time and would certainly recommend.
My host family was absolutely wonderful! I was often included in activities with them, such as driving around town, shopping, going to markets, church etc. I felt more like family than a guest. My room was always well maintained. It was quite large, very comfortable, and had a lot of natural light. I always felt safe where I lived, even at night.

I like the way the lessons were structured with the grammar and conversation sessions. It was really helpful when the school moved me from the group intensive course to one on one lessons. This is a really helpful and enjoyable course.
The family was nice and the food was great.

The class is not too big so I felt more comfortable to study and got to know the teachers and other students very well. I like that teachers try to explain and teach in Italian.

Se avessi più tempo scriverei in italiano. I’ve enjoyed the lessons very much. I used my book from last year and I was a little bit afraid that the whole course would be repetition. But no! I’ve learned a lot of new things and only a little was repetition. The conversation were a bit hard, but much better than too easy!

It’s very helpful to have the two separate sessions of grammar and conversation. I like having two different teachers for it too. I think it would have been much more helpful for me to have stayed longer than a week, because it’s hard to settle in and down in just one week.
Mrs Bianca was very lovely and helpful. She talked to me in Italian, which was really good for me. The room was very big, which was nice, and it was personable as well.

At school there were a lot of activities after class, I met a lot of new friends, everybody were nice to me and I hope to see you all again. I want to thank my teachers for all they did for me. This school is small but I think that is good point of Istituto Il David. Because, I can know all students and teachers. Everyone is very kind, so I had a good time of school.

Very enjoyable atmosphere, geared towards learning practical applications of Italian. In other institutes the material covered was not relevant to the “real world”, so David School was much better than expected.

I found the course really helpful and now I am so much more confident in speaking Italian. I know that I’m way ahead of my class at school!

It was wonderful to be back at school. Even after 7-8 years, there is always something to learn. Grammar was sometimes difficult, sometimes easy, but the teachers were very good. The sightseeing trips were most impressive. The teacher that guided us is a very good guide and can explain many things. Also the programs for the afternoon were interesting and I’ve participated 3-4 times. I will certainly come back next year.

I should say thanks for all. I like teachers very much, because they are really active in class and they do the best they can. I learnt many things of Italian language. It was a nice course. Grazie per tutto.

EXCELLENT!! My teacher was fabulous. She made us all feel accepted and she created an environment that encouraged us to try. She was very patient and made sure we understood before she continued. Because of her I want to continue in the language. She made it fun! I will miss her and the school.
I could not have asked for better! We were close to the train station, school, supermarket etc. We were provided with clean towels and blankets. The landlord was very accepting and welcoming. Thank you for this marvelous visit!

I really liked this school. All the programs offered were really fun. Making tiramisù was my favorite. And my conversation teacher is the best teacher I have ever seen!! I was so happy to meet her and the rest of the staff. I really want to come back here because of them.

The teachers were lovely and very passionate. They engaged my friend and I and made us want to speak Italian. Having done Italian before, I found the grammar and vocabulary a bit easy, but great revision. The atmosphere in class was always very positive and I really enjoyed the classes.
Daniela is fantastic. Her flat is wonderful and the bedroom was clean and spacious. Our area was excellent as it was near to the river and close to all the shops. The thing that has been the best aspect of this stay, for me, was Daniela because she spoke to me every day in Italian improving my confidence and understanding of the language. She was brilliant!

I have enjoyed studying in the school very much, I believe I have developed my Italian to a very good extent. The course was very interesting, the teachers very organised. Also the programme was very appropriate to these two weeks of study.

This is my second experience with the school and again, it was terrific. I had 4 great teachers, all of them were good, natured, encouraging and energetic. I especially liked G. as she focused most on pronunciation and would spend as much time as necessary for us to comprehend a subject. The school is very well organized and the atmosphere is quite positive. I would strongly recommend this school to others.

Istituto Il David was a really good choice as a language school, I learned a lot here. I found the classes fun and educative. The art history classes, where we went out and saw actual things, were really good. Also the people in class and the teachers had a good communication. I recommend it to all.

When I first arrived at the the school my impression was very good! Immediately everyone was friendly and welcoming! After my stay for one month I feel at home. All the teachers have been very patient and efficient while teaching! They always make learning Italian funwith games!
The apartment I stayed in was wonderful! Very good location and everything worked fine! The apartment also had extra blankets, pillows, towels which was nice!

The Istituto Il David is a very well-run language school. I really enjoyed the course and think that having a conversation class is a great idea. At first it was difficult, but the teachers were very nice and helpful. I really liked that there was an activity going on everyday and that the school always had any information I needed.

I didn’t know any Italian before I came, and now after one month I feel really good that I can do a conversation. The teachers were so nice and when I didn’t understand things they saw it and helped me. Plus, I could feel that if I had problems in general I had people I could go to! Thank you so much for the lovely experience!

I really liked the fact that we are able to to be in different levels for grammar and conversation. Really love the teachers I had, they both are very good teachers, are able to speak very clearly every topic; also if I would ask them a new topic they were not prepared for that day. I used to teach English, German and Portuguese, for foreigners, so I know how hard it is to teach grammar when “unprepared” for it.

I really enjoyed this school because it is much smaller than the others offered in Firenze. Both teachers that I had during the 4 weeks here were very helpful. I enjoyed conversation class because it was useful when talking to people outside of the classroom. Having grammar class before conversation made it easier to speak in conversation class. Overall I truly enjoyed learning here at Istituto Il David and would recommend it to others eager to learn Italian.

I enjoyed the school. The course was challenging but the instructors were very helpful when I did not understand. They explained until I understood. I learned more than I expected to in only one week. I liked how the grammar instructor switched after 2 hours to a new instructor. Both instructors were great.

The classes were very well organized! Giulia was a wonderful teacher to have as a beginner. She was very patient but stayed at a good pace. My second half of the month, the conversation classes with Antonella were very interactive. The school was very helpful with everything and I really feel like I have improved! Truly I can say that scuola Il David is a very comprehensive school. They teach students in a very simplified way so as to carry everybody along. I have learnt some method to speak the simple Italian verbs without making mistakes again. Scuola David is a wonderful school in the way they organize for extra activities for students, aperitivo was great. Bravi! Bravi! Bravi!

It was a very good experience with excellent teachers. Also the method was good with grammar and different teacher for conversation. I’m sorry that I couldn’t participate in programs organized by the school because I had to work at home during the afternoons. But the programs seemed good! Well organized school!

They did not put me in the spot which I appreciated. They understand we are learning Italian and they took their time explaining the pronunciation of Italian words and phrases. The apartment was more than I was expecting. The location was perfect. I was walking distance to all the major attractions in Florence. My room was big and comfortable. I enjoyed the company of my roommates and the apartment. I felt safe in the area. Safety is very important.

I have nothing but great things to say about the school, I have only been learning Italian for 5 weeks but I have learned very much in my short time here. I am very impressed with the kindness and dedication of the staff. Francesca is an amazing teacher; she is intelligent, confident and full of life. I enjoyed learning in her classroom. The Italian program itself is well put together so as to learn the basics first and then go from there. Thank you for everything, I will continue to study Italian when I go back to Canada.
The apartment I was staying in was great, everything we needed was there. It was located in a perfect location, very close to the school and central to everything in the city. The café under the apartment was amazing; I met many interesting people who helped me with my Italian. All around I would recommend the school and the accommodations to anyone.

I’ve liked everything in general: teachers, group, art history tours with Anna… The school has arranged everything very well and professionally. I’ve also got all the answers for my questions. Conversation lessons have been excellent! Elisa has made the lessons funny, efficient and interesting. I’ve also learnt a lot of grammar in the mornings. It’s been good, because I’d forgotten so many things. Art history during the evenings has been very important and interesting for me. Thank you all! I’m glad I could do the mixed course with language and art.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and have really learned a lot. The course has been well-paced and after four weeks I have gone from not knowing a word of Italian to being able to hold simple conversations and understanding more complicated language. Antonella has been very encouraging and is an excellent teacher, explaining difficult grammar points fluently and Francesca has also been brilliant at getting me to speak Italian and taking us on trips outside of the school. Daniela has also been very helpful with more practical matters.
My room is large and quiet and the apartment is very clean and well equipped. The location is excellent, close to the school and the city centre. It is very reasonably priced and I like it so much I’m staying another four weeks!

The entire experience was absolutely lovely in every way. The course content and the classes in general were very informative and fun. Above all Francesca and Sara were both superb and I enjoyed every class thoroughly. The atmosphere in general at the school was always relaxed and wonderful. What a pleasure! The school was one of the best experiences I have had. I didn’t expect to like to go to school, but I loved coming here. I really liked where I stayed. My host mother was great and I really enjoyed having dinner at home, practicing my Italian etc. The apartment was nice and right in the centre of Florence which was perfect for traveling about (S.M.N. station etc.). I’m going to miss living in Firenze and would love to come back someday.

The course is very well structured, detailed, I liked the flexibility of the course and the subject which is diverse every class. The teachers are very good, fun, very knowledgeable. They can give very well-detailed explanations of terms/information unknown. The program is nice because it changes everyday with every class, therefore I’m very satisfied.

The school was very welcoming and well-organized. Everybody was always available to answer questions, whether they were about the subjunctive or where to find the best gelato. The teachers were all bravissime e molto carine and the classes offered a broad but very in-depth understanding of the Italian language. I think one of the school’s greatest strengths is its incredible diversity. In every class you have perspectives from all over the world which creates interesting conversations and friendships that wouldn’t have been possible without this experience. I also really appreciated all of the activities the school organized which made it easy to explore Firenze/Italia and meet students from all different levels.
I had a wonderful experience with my host mom. She was always very sweet and welcoming and she really made me feel at home here in Firenze. She also helped a lot with my Italian, talking to me about my day, her life and the world every night over dinner. La mia mamma fiorentina, she was always ready with advice or a restaurant recommendation to help make my stay here more enjoyable.

I enjoyed my time I spent at the school, all is organized well, my compliments! The location and the accommodation of the school are excellent. I also enjoyed attending lessons; the teachers take their time for you and make you feel welcome at school. I am content with everything and am glad that I chose to attend a course at Il David. From the beginning, I was impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. The teachers were very helpful in making me feel part of the group in each class that I was in and helped me to understand the Italian culture. Given that I started at the beginners level, I am pleased by my improvement and grasp of the grammar and manner of conversation. I’m really satisfied with the school and the courses. In only one week I learned a lot. It’s great that the courses are divided between grammar and conversation and that the teachers always encourage students to talk. The organization of the courses and the extra activities are as well very good. Everybody at school was very helpful.

This was a very fulfilling experience for me. I feel like I learned so much in this class! The method of teaching was very effective and I thought that the teachers were very good! The school was well organized. I think I was in the right classes, the level was always ok. I hoped to be able to communicate more. The grammar lessons were more useful than the conversation lessons. At school the teachers were personal, always helped, informed us about the activities in the city and were very nice. The atmosphere at school was great. I liked the "famiglia", Maria taught us a lot and was always prepared to help us. The neighbourhood was safe and peaceful, but quite far from the centre. We bought a bike, which was perfect.

The course was really helpful especially because people do not speak much English. It starts from the very basic so it is easy to catch up. The teachers are very sweet and nice, they repeat till you don't understand. Overall the course offered by Istituto Il David is very good to learn Italian.
The room provided by the school was excellent. I had other roommates from other countries so get to know them personally . The location of the apartment was excellent.

The school has a wonderful program. I have definitely enjoyed studying here. The school is very organized. The teachers and students were all friendly! The time schedule for the class (morning) is very easy to work around because it leaves the entire afternoon free.

I thought the school was great. It was a struggle because it was taught all in the language but it helped progress even further. I feel like I have accomplished more in 1 week than I would weeks at a normal classroom. The teachers are very nice and extremely patient. They were also fun.

The school was ideally located for us, as we are living on Vigna Nuova! So being so centrally located was excellent. The teachers that we had for the 4 weeks were EXCELLENT and we have have such great memories of them to keep with us. The teaching style was informative, patient and very embracing, as beginners I felt very comfortable in the learning environment. I would definitely come back again. Classrooms were great, but I especially liked the terrazza! Much more intimate and lots of natural light.

I am very pleased with the school. I needed a place where every day I could practise conversation, and all the classes were perfect for that. All the instructors are very well-focused and just the right level.
In the future, when I have another block of time free, I will most definitely return to continue my studies at Istituto Il David! Grazie!

The school is right in the centre and it is really convenient to go to everywhere. The teachers are nice. It was sometimes really difficult to study Italian for me, but they are really gentle and patients to taught me. The programs are really funny and enjoyed a lot. My flat was close to the centre and the school. Sometimes felt little noisy but easy to go to everywhere. I had a good time in Firenze and I'd like to come back again in the future.

We have had a fantastic 2 weeks in Florence. We took a 2-week "standard course" (4 hours' lessons/day) which allowed a perfect balance of time to spend learning Italian and seeing the sights. The teaching was excellent especially as this was our first time learning Italian. The school trips were good value with friendly and informative guides. Its location in the heart of Florence added to the generally wonderful experience.

I loved my stay at the school. The program was challenging but I was able to comprehend what I was taught. I learned so much. I loved both of my teachers. Their enthusiasm for the language was contagious. I would certainly do this program again if I had the chance.
My apartment was wonderful. It was very spacious and clean when I arrived. The SMN area was, unfortunately, very noisy, due to a great deal of construction, but other than that it was fine. I enjoyed my stay very much.

The course at il David is excellent. All the teachers have given very clear explanations about the grammar and they have made me more confident when speaking Italian. I have enjoyed every minute of my lessons and don’t want to leave Florence! The lessons were very entertaining so that, although I had to work hard to learn everything, the 4 hours passed very quickly. I was made to feel very welcome by everybody on the staff of Istituto Il David. The lessons about the History of Art were very interesting and we have learnt a great deal to help us understand all the cultural and artistic treasures in Florence and in Italy. Il David Institute is an excellent place to visit and enjoy Florence, Italian language and the people. The afternoon in Chianti was great! Grazie mille, al prossimo anno!

I had a lovely time in this school. I was satisfied with all the classes. I have to mention that the teacher of grammar was very good at explaining the grammar, and the teacher of conversation, her method of teaching is excellent as well. Of course all the teachers were friendly at all times, pleasant to learn from. I checked out lots of other schools before attending Italian lessons , and I made a decision to come to Istituto Il David because of your receptionist :) who gave me a very good impression. I love Instituto il David. This was my second time to study here, and I am quite sure I will come back again next year when I go on my summer break. The teachers are wonderful, the program is good, my Italian has improved greatly.

The school was very good. The teachers were very nice and helpful. I learned a lot in both classes, the grammar class and conversation. The classes were fun and I enjoyed afternoon trips with the class through the city of Firenze.
The apartment was very nice, always kept clean and tidy. The area was central, close to everything, which I loved. Maria was a really nice lady and very hospitable. Overall my room, bathroom and kitchen were fantastic.

The school is very well organized and everybody is extremely personable, Francesca and Giulia are so wonderful and very, very helpful teachers! I knew absolutely no Italian at the beginning of the class and now I fell much more comfortable getting around and trying to speak Italian at stores and restaurants. It’s been a great experience and if I have the chance to come back to Firenze, I will definitely come back to this school!

I have really enjoyed my time at Instituto il David. The lessons were very good as they involved a lot of interaction with all in the class. I feel I have as good understanding of Italian after 4 weeks here.
I have been staying with the family…. and have thoroughly enjoyed my stay. They have been very kind since my arrival and there have been no problems.

The atmosphere in the school was very nice. I made some new friends already the first day. The teachers were all very nice and patient, and their classes were useful. My Italian really improved, also because the 2 individual hours of class every day. I can recommend this school to everyone. I lived an a really nice apartment with 2 great girls. My time at the school has been both productive and fun. The content of the class lessons has always been precise and beneficial to my learning. Good, otherwise I wouldn’t have come back! Chiara’s class is very helpful. She is an experienced and patient teacher who explained concepts well. The afternoon one-to-one session with Carlotta was very interesting. She focused articles and themes on my interests and needs.
Room and apartment fine. Friendly, helpful and non-intrusive hosts. However, as the apartment is directly on the square Piazza santa Croce, it is very noisy, particularly late at night.

This was my second time attending this school and I enjoyed it as much as the first time. I learned a tremendous amount and the teachers were excellent, as always. I would definitely consider coming back, and would also recommend it to many friends.

About my accommodation, miss Betty was great. She welcomed me into her house like a family member. The room, area and house were perfect and close to the school. She made my stay in Firenze that much more enjoyable.

I enjoyed my time here very much and learned quite a lot of Italian in 2 weeks. I'm very satisfied with the progress I've made, and hope to continue studying Italian in the future. Everyone at the school has been very friendly and very professional. Accommodation: I got along very well with Teresa. She is very thoughtful, and was an excellent way to practice my Italian (even though she likes to talk more than listen). I didn't mind the walk at all since it was very pleasant. Food was always good and enough, and the apartment was always kept clean, etc. Thanks for everything!

The course was excellent and I really enjoyed my time here. The lessons were very useful and I have learnt a lot. All of the staff were very helpful and kind and I will definitely recommend the school. The accommodation was fine and the price was very reasonable for such a central location. A warm and welcoming atmosphere, nice school, good teaching. Everyone has been really friendly and helpful, and I’ve had a great stay.
My accommodation was great, a big house with lots of space and Vanna has been a brilliant host, I couldn't have asked for anything more! The food has been fantastic and is been a great chance to speak more Italian.

I think that this school does a very good job of teaching people (from all different language backgrounds) how to speak Italian. I definitely learned a lot of Italian. The teachers are all so nice and make class fun and enjoyable.
My housing was very nice and my roommate was nice. The housing was in a good location close to the center and close to a bus stop.

The teachers here are fantastic. They are always full of energy and passion for what they do. I thoroughly enjoyed those days that I did attend the school and will never forget the experience.

Il David is very organized and well directed. It provides a very open environment where students are given the opportunity to meet and share cultures. The teachers are very helpful and very nice. I learned a lot in Il David. Being incredibly helpful, they found me a new apartment right away upon finding out about my allergies. Both apartments were beautiful and in great areas. My roommate was great + we got along great.

Having attended several different language course the last 5 years, the course in Istituto Il David is the one where I have learned most. The teachers are very good, and they manage to activate all the students. I feel that my language level is a lot better how offer six weeks at the school. The administration was been very helpful.
I am very happy for choosing half-pension. My landlady is a wonderful cook, and she has made two “piatti” every evening. My room has been a nice place to stay, and I have had the opportunity to speak a lot with the lady, which has been very good for my oral language.

School is very well run and friendly After only 9 days of class I can now understand and speak a small amount compared to none on day 1. Exceeded my expectations.
My apartment was in a fantastic location and very nice. I would recommend it and I would be happy to stay there again. Only small complaint is the noise from the restaurants at night.

It was exactly what I wanted. I learned a lot of the grammar which I was still missing, and I was able to practice conversation a great deal. The teachers were fantastic, and the materials and methods used were new, different, and interesting. Overall, very satisfied. I would love to return!
Wonderful accommodation. A little far from the school but I didn’t mind walking each day. The landlady was nice, it was a pleasure living with her. Everything was clean and comfortable.

My accommodation was lovely and what I expected. I liked being able to use the kitchen whenever I wanted. The room was neat, clean and tidy. My “landlady” was very friendly, helpful and always happy. She also allowed us our privacy and freedom to come and go as we pleased. I also recommend her apartment to anyone. Please pass on my thanks to her, as I will.

The school was beautiful and it was an amazing experience. The teachers are warm and welcoming who become lifelong friends. The course was very interactive not only do you learn the language and culture of Italy but a bit about the peers in your class. Friendly and professional atmosphere. Courses well structured, especially the morning grammar class. Really enjoyed the one-to-one classes in the afternoon. In one week I feel I have made good progress, although I am all too aware of the work yet to be done!

The conversation class has been really good, I’ve grown a lot in confidence + the topics we discussed were really interesting. The grammar lessons (intermediate) were useful but not very imaginative.

It was my first experience to learn in Italy. I think it was the most right decision I could made to choose Instituto Il David. The school and the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and kind. Especially I’ve gained a lot from grammar. This week made me more courageous and I feel I can understand Italian well. It was nice meeting students from different countries. Perfect accommodation. 10 minutes walk from the school and in a really lively place (Santa Croce area). Talking to the woman I stayed with was the best way to learn, and she was also an amazing chef so I recommend a home stay.
